Due to the underwhelming sales performance of the Galaxy S25 Edge, Samsung has opted to scrap the Galaxy S26 Edge variant and recalibrate its production strategy for the Galaxy S26 lineup, channeling resources predominantly toward the Ultra model. Initially, Samsung had earmarked the end of 2025 for the mass production of three models—Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra—with a scheduled release slated for late January 2026. Following the strategic shift, production approval for the OLED screen of the Galaxy S26 Ultra has been granted, paving the way for actual device assembly to kick off in December 2025. Conversely, the production approval for the screens of the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ has been pushed back to December, likely delaying the full assembly of these devices until January 2026. Industry analysts deem this adjustment as prudent, indicating that while Samsung might postpone the release of the Galaxy S26 series, the overall launch timeline may not be drastically altered, with the unveiling event potentially occurring in February of the following year.
