After updating his device to iOS 26.1 Beta, he encountered a problem where the first WeChat voice call he made had no sound. The audio only became functional after he terminated the initial call and made another one. Attempting to resolve the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling WeChat proved futile.

This issue was not isolated to Wang Gaofei. A number of netizens also chimed in, sharing that they were facing the same predicament. Weibo Zhisou, a well - known information source on Weibo, clarified that this was a compatibility glitch present in the Beta version of the system. It offered advice to users, suggesting that those who had not yet upgraded to iOS 26.1 Beta should hold off on doing so for the time being.
