On September 30th, reports indicated that the Shenzhen Municipal Transport Bureau had unveiled the Implementation Rules for its "Several Measures to Support the High-Quality Development of the Low-Altitude Economy in Shenzhen". According to these rules, the funding is earmarked for enterprises involved in the research and development, manufacturing, and operation of manned eVTOL (Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing) aircraft as well as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). To qualify for this funding, enterprises must secure type certificates and production licenses for eVTOL aircraft and UAVs from the Civil Aviation Administration of China and must carry out their business operations within Shenzhen.
The funding criteria are outlined as follows: Enterprises will receive a one-time reward of 15 million yuan for manned eVTOL aircraft; a one-time reward of 5 million yuan for large unmanned aerial vehicles; and a one-time reward of 3 million yuan for medium-sized unmanned aerial vehicles. However, the total annual reward amount that any single enterprise can receive is capped at 30 million yuan, and the same aircraft model is eligible for the reward only once.
