On September 29, 2025, Jiemian News reported that after vivo made its foray into the handheld smart imaging device market, OPPO has also officially kicked off a project in this domain. Its products are set to go head-to-head with well-known brands such as GoPro and DJI. This project falls under the purview of the smart imaging team within the Find product planning department. Leading the charge is Li Yang, who previously served as the Go-To-Market (GTM) lead for the Find series. In response to inquiries, OPPO clarified that there have been no recent personnel changes within its imaging team. According to media sources, vivo launched a project for a handheld gimbal camera at the close of 2024. The mold for its inaugural product has already been finalized, with an anticipated release slated for 2026. Nevertheless, vivo has yet to issue an official statement regarding this development.
