On September 17, 2025, the China Cybersecurity Association, under the guidance of the Network Data Management Bureau of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, jointly issued the 'Initiative on Personal Information Protection for Smart Toys' with 16 member units. Focusing on safeguarding the information security of minors and promoting the healthy development of the industry, the initiative outlines eight core principles: adhering strictly to compliance standards, focusing on necessity principles, optimizing notification methods, strengthening risk assessments, respecting user choices, regulating the flow of personal information, addressing special needs, and cooperating with regulatory inspections.
