Alipay has revealed that Ele.me’s food delivery lockers now offer a “Tap with Alipay” function, streamlining the process of food pickup and drop-off. This service is already operational in more than 40 cities throughout China. Both users and delivery personnel can effortlessly complete contactless food transactions by simply tapping the blue sensor ring on the locker. This method ensures an incredibly straightforward and efficient experience. When a user retrieves their order, a light tap on the sensor area instantly opens the locker door, with the entire process taking under 3 seconds.
