Apple has recently made a subtle yet notable update to the technical specifications page for the iPhone 16, revealing a fresh set of icons designed in a 'liquid glass' style for a number of pre-installed applications, including the App Store. These particular apps are set to receive separate updates via the App Store. Notably, the specifications page did not disclose any alterations in functionality; instead, it highlighted an enhancement in the visual presentation of the icons. The new design accentuates a glassy texture along with light and shadow effects, imparting a more three-dimensional appearance to the icons. Among these, the Clips and GarageBand apps have undergone substantial redesigns, while other apps have experienced only minor tweaks. Presently, all iPhone product pages feature the updated icons, whereas the Mac product pages still display the icons from the current macOS iteration, resulting in a temporary inconsistency across platforms.
