On September 12, a group of dedicated Samsung Electronics users launched a collective petition on the Change.org platform, garnering signatures from over 2,500 individuals. Their demands are clear: the dismissal of the head of Samsung's camera division and a complete overhaul of the mobile imaging strategy, led by Roh Tae-moon, the head of Samsung's Mobile Experience (MX) division.

The petition highlights a series of mismanagement issues and strategic blunders within Samsung's camera department, enumerating eight key problems: sluggish hardware advancements, a technological edge lost to competitors, a disregard for user input, persistent technical glitches, an uncritical emulation of Apple's strategies, biased skin tone rendering, and a reluctance to embrace artificial intelligence computational photography techniques.

Just a day prior, Samsung had taken to social media to poke fun at the iPhone 17. However, users argue that Samsung should first turn its attention inward and resolve its own pressing concerns. As of the time this article was prepared for press, Samsung had not issued an official response.
