Beijing Telecom has announced its newfound ability to activate eSIMs. The company is set to roll out this service concurrently with the launch of the Apple iPhone Air on September 19, maintaining the existing package pricing and benefits. New customers are eligible to apply for the "eSIM Mobile Network Entry" service, whereas existing customers can opt for the "eSIM SIM Card Replacement" service. Store personnel will be on hand to guide customers through the entire process, and activation can be completed directly on-site. Should users need to revert to physical SIM card services after activating eSIMs, they can do so at offline stores. The Apple iPhone Air exclusively supports eSIMs, and currently, according to official announcements, only China Unicom offers eSIM services on the mainland. China Telecom has confirmed that its eSIM mobile services are fully prepared and will become available pending approval from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Meanwhile, China Mobile has stated that it already supports eSIMs, but the exact timeline for the public rollout of this service will be announced at a later date.
