Chongqing has unveiled new regulations pertaining to the management of distributed photovoltaic systems, specifying that industrial and commercial projects that generate their own electricity and feed surplus into the grid must meet specific self-consumption benchmarks. In the main urban area, annual self-consumption must account for no less than 20% of electricity generated, while in other districts and counties, this threshold rises to 40%. Any excess electricity beyond these proportional limits must be consumed by the project investment entity through market-oriented means.
