The Debian 13 "Trixie" stable release has been officially unveiled, with extended support until 2030. This latest iteration boasts a diverse array of desktop environments, encompassing GNOME 48, KDE Plasma 6.3, LXDE 13, LXQt 2.1.0, and Xfce 4.20. Among the key updates are the integration of the Linux 6.12 LTS kernel, the GCC 14.2 compiler, and Python 3.13. Notably, Debian 13 marks the debut of official support for the RISC-V architecture, while discontinuing support for the i386 architecture. Furthermore, the new version introduces 14,100 fresh packages and retires 8,840 outdated ones, bringing the grand total to 69,830 packages, of which 44,326 have undergone updates.
