On August 11, the Jianghuai Frontier Technology Collaborative Innovation Center's independently developed rope-driven S1 robot made its grand entrance at the exhibition area of the 2025 World Robot Conference, effortlessly executing a series of intricate maneuvers. As Anhui Province's pioneering rope-driven robot, S1 boasts an impressive 46 degrees of freedom across its entire body, armed with LiDAR, millimeter-wave radar, depth cameras, and an array of sensors, enabling comprehensive scene understanding and interactive perception. Unlike conventional rigid-arm robots, S1 employs a 7-DOF (degrees of freedom) rope-driven arm design that minimizes impact force through rope transmission, gradually tapering the contact force at the end effector. This innovative approach underscores the vast potential of robots in performing delicate operations.
