The Safety and Trust Center of Douyin E-commerce has released a governance announcement detailing that, beginning in 2025, the platform has systematically tackled violations related to mystery boxes. As a result, over 4,000 illegal live streaming rooms have been suspended, and more than 1,000 influencer accounts have been removed. According to the platform's regulations, only products that are officially mystery boxes or sets of mystery boxes at the point of manufacture are permitted for sale, aiming to uphold market order and safeguard consumer rights.
