The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in collaboration with six other ministries, has unveiled the "Implementation Opinions on Accelerating Innovative Development in the Brain-Computer Interface Industry." The opinions outline an ambitious goal: by 2027, China aims to achieve groundbreaking advancements in key brain-computer interface technologies, fostering advanced technological, industrial, and standardization frameworks. The performance of electrodes, chips, and integrated machine products should attain international prominence, while their application should be expedited across sectors such as industrial manufacturing, healthcare, and consumer lifestyles. Furthermore, the plan envisions the formation of 2 to 3 industrial clusters, and the exploration of novel scenarios, models, and business paradigms. By 2030, the brain-computer interface industry's innovative capabilities are expected to witness a substantial uplift, resulting in a secure and dependable industrial ecosystem. The objective also includes nurturing 2 to 3 globally preeminent enterprises and a multitude of specialized, refined, innovative, and technologically advanced small and medium-sized enterprises, propelling China's overall strength to the forefront of the global landscape.
