The General Administration of Customs has released fresh data today. Since the enactment of the Development Plan Outline for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in February 2019, the cumulative import-export value of the nine mainland cities within the Greater Bay Area has surpassed the 50 trillion yuan milestone, amounting to 50.67 trillion yuan. In the initial seven months of this year alone, these nine cities collectively recorded an import-export volume of 5.2 trillion yuan, marking a 4.7% increase year-on-year. The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, characterized by its exceptional openness, robust economic vitality, and remarkable resilience in foreign trade, has emerged as a bellwether region for the high-quality development of China's external trade. Notably, during this period, the nine mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area accounted for nearly 70% of China's digital camera exports and over 80% of 3D printer exports, while importing more than 40% of memory devices and over 60% of computer processing components.
