Apple, in partnership with Synchron, is pioneering the development of brain-computer interface (BCI) technology that empowers users to seamlessly operate Apple devices — including iPhones, iPads, Macs, and the Apple Vision Pro — exclusively through neural implants that decipher brain signals. A recently released video highlights an early adopter, Mark Jackson, effortlessly controlling his iPad using only his thoughts, from navigating the home screen to opening apps and drafting messages. Synchron's Stentrode system captures brain signals and seamlessly integrates with Apple's newly introduced BCI human-machine interaction protocol, allowing for intuitive thought-based control of Apple devices. To date, ten participants have successfully undergone the implantation of this cutting-edge device.
