Security researchers at CrowdStrike have uncovered a dramatic surge in incidents where North Korean spies have infiltrated companies by posing as remote IT workers for financial gain. The latest Threat Hunting Report from the firm reveals that over 320 such incidents have been identified in the past 12 months, representing a staggering 220% year-on-year increase. In these incidents, North Korean operatives have fraudulently assumed roles as remote developers within Western companies, thereby benefitting the North Korean regime.
