LG-Eni Biorefining, a subsidiary of the Korean conglomerate LG Chem, has unveiled plans to construct the nation's first Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (HVO) plant in Seosan City. This groundbreaking facility is projected to achieve an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons by 2027. HVO, an eco-friendly biofuel, is manufactured through the hydrogenation process of renewable vegetable oils, including waste cooking oil. This versatile fuel can be utilized in various applications, such as sustainable aviation fuel, biodiesel, and bio-naphtha.
