Despite this, a considerable portion of its code remains proprietary, prompting ongoing requests for greater transparency. One notable example is the Windows 11 user interface framework, WinUI. While not yet fully open sourced, Microsoft has recently shared its plans for the next six months, aiming to foster a more open and collaborative environment. These plans encompass both product development and foundational changes.
