China's led Technical Specification for Sludge as Supplementary Solid Fuel has recently been successfully ratified by the International Organization for Standardization. This initiative aims to furnish the global community with technical solutions for the utilization of sludge resources, thereby fostering green development. Amidst the escalating production of urban sludge worldwide, traditional disposal methods are encountering significant challenges. The newly approved standard will delineate sludge quality, pollutant control measures, pretreatment processes, and monitoring methodologies, ultimately enhancing the efficiency of resource utilization. Experts hailing from China, Canada, France, Italy, India, Ghana, Nigeria, and other nations will collaboratively engage in its formulation, jointly contributing to the advancement of global sustainable development.
