On July 21, Uber officially unveiled its WeChat mini program for global ride-hailing services. This initiative allows Chinese tourists and Hong Kong residents to hail rides directly within WeChat, eliminating the need to download a separate app. The mini program features a Chinese interface and supports payments via WeChat Pay and WeChat's Hong Kong dollar wallet. Currently available in Hong Kong, China, and Japan, the service will progressively expand to cover nine additional countries and regions, including the United States and the United Kingdom. By addressing the challenges associated with hailing rides and making payments abroad, Uber aims to provide Chinese travelers with a seamless and convenient experience.
