The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has officially launched the S$5 billion Equity Market Development Plan (EQDP), appointing Avanda Investment Management, Fullerton Investment Management, and J.P. Morgan Asset Management as the inaugural cohort of asset management firms under this initiative. To bolster the efforts of these firms, MAS, in collaboration with the Financial Sector Development Fund, will provide an initial S$1.1 billion in management funding, supplemented by an additional S$50 million commitment dedicated to strengthening local equity research. This strategic deployment is aimed at enhancing the vitality and appeal of Singapore's stock market, fostering greater market liquidity, and elevating the valuation of high-quality stocks.
