The National Railway Administration is currently in the process of crafting the '15th Five-Year' Railway Development Plan, with the overarching goals of optimizing the railway network, bolstering transportation efficiency, and minimizing logistics costs in order to meet the escalating demands for both passenger and freight transportation. Over the span of the '14th Five-Year Plan', the national railway freight volume is projected to reach a milestone of 25 billion tons, marking a substantial increase of 5 billion tons compared to the '13th Five-Year Plan'. High-speed rail express services have been seamlessly integrated into daily operations, while China-Europe and China-Central Asia freight trains now serve over 300 cities across 37 countries, significantly accelerating the export of Chinese-made products, particularly new energy vehicles. Furthermore, the China-Laos Railway, which has been operational for over three years, has transported a cumulative total of 13.9 million tons of goods across more than 3,000 categories, thereby paving the way for the swift entry of Southeast Asian agricultural products into the market.
