The Mozilla Gfx team has proudly announced that the forthcoming Firefox 141 will officially introduce support for WebGPU on the Windows platform upon its release on July 22. WebGPU represents a high-performance Web API that grants developers direct access to the GPU, facilitating the seamless execution of intricate graphics and 3D applications within web browsers. Chrome 113 previously paved the way by being the first to offer this capability, enabling Chrome users to harness the benefits of this advanced technology. However, Firefox users have had to wait until the arrival of Firefox 141 to experience this feature for themselves. Looking ahead, Mozilla intends to expand WebGPU support to Mac and Linux platforms in the near future, with the eventual inclusion of Android platforms in its ambit.
