On July 16, JD.com announced adjustments to its policy for compensating customers for delayed takeout deliveries. The previous policy, which offered a "free meal" for delays exceeding 20 minutes, has been revised to provide coupons: a 2-yuan coupon for delays of 10 minutes and a 4-yuan coupon for delays of 20 minutes. JD.com's customer service clarified that delivery riders' orders are now insured under "Punctuality Insurance," and compensation will be administered in accordance with the terms of this insurance. Notably, some merchants who handle their own deliveries may still offer a free meal for delayed orders.
