On July 13, China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) announced the shipment of 24 sets of 2,000-meter-deep ultra-deepwater suction anchors, independently built in China, from Zhuhai to Brazil. This significant consignment represents one of the largest water depth offshore oil and gas equipment currently exported by China, signifying the international recognition of "Made in China" deep-sea equipment by the mainstream market. These suction anchors are destined for installation in the Mero oil field located in the Santos sub-salt basin in the southeastern waters of Brazil, where they will play a crucial role in the development of deep-sea energy resources. As a vital piece of equipment for deepwater mooring, the suction anchor adheres firmly to the seabed mud, akin to a large suction cup, ensuring efficient fixation of offshore facilities. It is aptly named the "Sea Anchor" for its role in facilitating deep-sea energy development.
