On July 11, 2025, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) officially published the Import and Export (Amendment) Ordinance 2025. This legislation introduces technical amendments to the relevant statutes, paving the way for the implementation of the third phase of the 'Single Window for Trade' initiative. Scheduled for phased rollout beginning in 2026, this phase is designed to replace existing electronic trading platforms, streamline document submission processes, enhance the efficiency of cargo clearance, and further solidify Hong Kong's status as a leading international trade center and logistics hub.
