Ripple has appointed BNY Mellon to manage the USD cash and U.S. Treasury securities reserves backing its stablecoin, RLUSD, thereby guaranteeing a one-to-one exchange rate with the U.S. dollar. With over $500 million currently in circulation, RLUSD adheres to the regulatory standards of traditional money market funds in its exchange mechanism. In 2021, BNY Mellon established its digital assets division and the following year commenced offering services tailored to institutional-grade crypto clients.
