Following the enforcement of new regulations by the Civil Aviation Administration, numerous power banks lacking 3C certification have been confiscated at airports. Subsequently, an influx of power banks, labeled as "airport-intercepted," has emerged on second-hand trading platforms, being offered at bargain prices ranging from 15 to 30 yuan. Merchants have been vague about the origins and safety standards of these devices, prompting concerns within the industry. Experts caution that verifying the authenticity of these power banks is challenging and that they may pose potential safety risks. In response, the airport authorities have assured that all confiscated non-compliant power banks are handled in a unified manner and will not be allowed to enter the market.
