Brazil's antitrust regulatory body, the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE), has recommended a ruling that Apple's iOS ecosystem engages in anti-competitive practices. The agency accuses Apple of restricting the distribution of digital goods and in-app purchases, and proposes the imposition of fines along with behavioral remedies. Prior to this, the Latin American e-commerce platform MercadoLibre, among others, had lodged complaints against Apple in 2022.
