On June 30, netizens reported that approximately one hour after takeoff, Spring Airlines flight JL8696/IJ004 encountered a suspected hydraulic system malfunction, causing the aircraft to suddenly descend by approximately 8,000 meters. Passengers experienced significant pressure on their eardrums, prompting the automatic deployment of oxygen masks in the cabin. Flight attendants urgently instructed passengers to don the masks. The flight eventually made an emergency landing at Kansai International Airport, where all passengers remained onboard awaiting further instructions. Authorities are currently investigating the incident.
