On Monday, Google revealed a groundbreaking partnership, pledging to purchase 50% of the electricity produced by Commonwealth Fusion Systems' (CFS) inaugural commercial power station. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in the advancement of nuclear fusion energy technology. CFS anticipates commencing the supply of 200 megawatts of power from its Arc power plant to Google in the early 2030s. In exchange, Google will offer CFS an undisclosed sum of funding in a fresh investment round.
