Anker Innovations has announced a second recall in international markets, affecting five models of power banks (A1257, A1647, A1652, A1681, and A1689) due to potential safety hazards such as overheating and fire risks. This recall stems from an unauthorized modification made by the battery cell supplier to the internal insulating separator material in the lithium batteries. Following the previous recall of the A1263 model, Anker Innovations urges users to immediately stop using the affected power banks. Users are advised to visit the official website to enter their serial number to check if their product is affected and to submit a recall application.
In certain markets, Anker Innovations offers users the option of a free replacement or a gift card as compensation, eliminating the need to return the defective product. Instead, users can safely dispose of the affected power bank at a designated disposal facility.
