Over the past five years since its inception, Amazon's global anti-counterfeiting team has significantly expanded its reach, spanning from just two countries to now encompassing 12, including the United States, China, France, India, and the United Kingdom. This dedicated team has filed over 200 civil lawsuits against counterfeiters, securing over $180 million in compensation and penalties. Additionally, 65 individuals have been imprisoned for their involvement in the manufacturing and sale of counterfeit goods. Amazon has forged partnerships with numerous prestigious brands, such as Prada, BMW, Philips, LEGO, Canon, and Cisco, among others.
Recently, Amazon's anti-counterfeiting team joined forces with the Chinese brand POP MART for the first time, targeting a counterfeit supplier. The collaborative effort resulted in the seizure of thousands of fake products and packaging materials, effectively protecting POP MART's brand rights and facilitating its smooth international expansion.
