The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), in collaboration with the Central Cyberspace Administration Office, the Ministry of Public Security, and the State Administration for Market Regulation, has initiated a special personal information protection initiative for 2025. Pursuant to applicable laws and regulations, MIIT has undertaken a governance campaign targeting Apps and SDKs that unlawfully gather and utilize personal information. Recent inspections have uncovered 57 Apps and SDKs that violate users' rights and interests. These entities have been instructed to rectify the issues, with a stern warning that failure to do so will lead to legal consequences.
