On June 23, 2025, the Aerospace Combined Power Team at Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) triumphantly announced the successful test flight of the 'Feitian-2'. This achievement set a new benchmark in the international aerospace industry, marking a pivotal moment in the advancement of China's aerospace power technology. During its test flight, 'Feitian-2' gathered scientific data for the first time on the combined power performance of a kerosene-hydrogen peroxide propellant rocket ramjet under various critical operational conditions, representing a significant leap forward. Earlier, 'Feitian-1' had already validated the seamless transition of the kerosene fuel engine's multimodal capabilities and its robust performance across a wide range of operating modes. Both missions overcame numerous key technological challenges, firmly establishing the groundwork for the continued development of China's aerospace power technology.
