The ongoing military conflict between Israel and Iran has prompted several international airlines to adjust their flight routes in an effort to mitigate safety risks. Following the U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, tensions in the Middle East have reached new heights, throwing international air operations into disarray. Amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the Middle Eastern airspace has emerged as a vital passage for flights connecting Europe and Asia. However, the intensification of the conflict has compelled airlines to reroute their flights, often opting for paths via the Caspian Sea or through Egypt and Saudi Arabia. These detours have led to increased fuel costs and longer flight durations. At present, the airspace over Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Israel is nearly devoid of commercial flights.
