Harbin Engineering University, in partnership with China General Nuclear Power Testing Technology Co., Ltd. and Yangjiang Nuclear Power Co., Ltd., has pioneered the world's first quadruped heat transfer tube inspection robot, which is now operational. This remarkable robot features a biomimetic quadruped anchor claw design, allowing it to swiftly navigate and alter its posture with ease. By integrating movement and scanning during inspections, it dramatically enhances the efficiency of inspecting heat transfer tubes in nuclear power plants. The "Gecko Robot" performs synchronized quadruped locomotion and inspection tasks within the Hualong One unit, leading to substantial reductions in inspection time and maintenance expenses.
