The Beijing Municipal Commission of Transport has announced an ongoing initiative to upgrade the light panels of 60,000 taxis equipped with smart terminals. By September, these taxis will feature an additional 'Online Hailing' display mode. Previously, the light panels of cruising taxis indicated only three statuses: Empty, Occupied, and Out of Service. With this transformation, when a taxi receives an online order, its light panel will automatically switch to 'Online Hailing,' enabling passengers to clearly ascertain the vehicle's operational status and minimize misunderstandings.
