Microsoft's Windows Hello facial unlock feature has been found to be ineffective in dark environments, but this limitation is not due to a system vulnerability. In April of this year, Microsoft issued an update for Windows Hello to address previously identified security spoofing vulnerabilities. Unfortunately, this update necessitated the removal of certain key features from Windows Hello within the Windows 11 system. As a result, users must ensure that there is adequate ambient light when utilizing this feature to meet the technological requirements for facial recognition.
