Commencing on June 15, 2025, Beijing's extensive urban rail transit network will introduce contactless tap-and-go functionality and ticket purchase/replenishment services for foreign JCB cards and both domestic and international American Express cards. This enhancement will encompass all 29 lines and 523 stations, including the suburban railway line S2. This milestone marks Beijing as the first urban rail transit system globally to fully integrate support for the five major card organizations: China UnionPay, Mastercard, Visa, JCB, and American Express. Passengers can now swiftly pass through turnstiles by simply holding their cards, eliminating the need for advance ticket purchase or app downloads. Since the inception of the tap-and-go service for foreign bank cards in September 2024, it has seamlessly served over 130 countries and regions without a single complaint. Looking ahead, Beijing's urban rail transit system pledges to continually refine its payment methods and elevate service standards.
