The Ministry of Finance and the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission have recently collaborated to issue a notice mandating that both domestic and overseas listed companies, along with those that have proactively implemented the new accounting standards for insurance contracts, must continue to adhere to these standards. For other enterprises adhering to business enterprise accounting standards, the new standards will become effective from January 1, 2026. Non-listed enterprises have the option to adopt simplified measures outlined in the notice, starting from January 1, 2025.
