On June 9, Avic Aero-Technology made an announcement that China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines have acquired shares in the company, becoming its new shareholders. Specifically, China Eastern Airlines, through its subsidiary China Eastern Airlines Investment, holds a 9% stake, while China Southern Airlines, via China Southern Airlines Capital, holds an 11% stake. Prior to this development, Avic Aero-Technology was a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China. Currently, the company serves as the exclusive supplier of seats for the domestically produced C919 aircraft.
