On June 9, 2025, SHEIN officially addressed rumors of a partnership with Indian retailer Reliance, categorically denying any intentions to expand its Indian supplier base to 1,000 within a year or to sell Indian-made clothing overseas. The company stressed that these reports were inaccurate and clarified that their collaboration with Reliance was solely confined to granting the latter the authorization to sell SHEIN-branded products within the Indian market.
