A recent research report by CITIC Securities reveals that cryptocurrencies have witnessed rapid growth since their inception, offering robust privacy and anti-inflation benefits. These digital assets are gradually transitioning towards formal assetization. As their rigid demand expands, a support structure and speculative pricing pattern akin to gold has emerged. Nevertheless, in the short term, cryptocurrencies' speculative nature is pronounced due to insufficient monetization and a high risk appetite among marginal pricers. In the medium to long term, however, trends towards anti-globalization and de-dollarization could propel the monetization of both cryptocurrencies and gold. While "future gold" may not necessarily encompass Bitcoin, cryptocurrencies are highly likely to carve out a significant niche. In the near term, cryptocurrencies may benefit from expectations of regulatory easing during the Trump administration, though clarity on trade and foreign policy remains pending.
