Recently, Google engineers proposed on GitHub a significant enhancement to online privacy measures. They suggested that websites should not be permitted to directly access devices within a local area network (LAN) via browsers like Chrome, with the exception of cases where users explicitly grant permission. Previously, public websites had the ability to directly interact with LAN devices through browsers, but Chrome's Private Network Access (PNA) technology has since imposed restrictions to mitigate this risk. By leveraging a preflight request mechanism, PNA technology fortifies user data security by closely controlling access to LAN devices.
