TikTok Shop in Japan has officially launched self-registration for cross-border Point of Purchase (POP) stores, but this service is currently restricted to merchants who ship from overseas warehouses. Merchants interested in cross-border direct mail services will still need to be invited to join. Merchants have the flexibility to choose between cross-border direct mail and overseas warehouse shipping, but cannot utilize both methods concurrently. Cross-border direct mail is ideal for lightweight and small items, whereas overseas warehouse shipping offers enhanced consumer experiences. At present, enterprises from mainland China and Hong Kong are eligible to apply, provided they possess operational experience on various platforms. Categories such as beauty products and mother and baby products must adhere to specific compliance requirements. Each company can establish up to 5 stores, with each store requiring a deposit of 70,000 yen. Participating merchants are entitled to various benefits, including promotional support and logistics subsidies.
