JetBlue CEO Affirms No Merger Intentions with United Airlines

JetBlue Airways (JBLU) Chief Executive Officer, Joanna Geraghty, recently made it clear that the airline's partnership with United Airlines (UAL) does not signify any intention for a merger between the two companies. Last week, the two airlines announced a collaboration that enables passengers to book flights on either carrier's website and to accumulate and redeem miles across each other's frequent flyer programs. Geraghty underscored that JetBlue will proceed with future partnerships with caution, especially given the extensive interactions with the Department of Justice over the past five years.
