Led by Wang Yu from the Institute of Process Engineering at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a research team has achieved a groundbreaking advancement in solar-powered interfacial evaporation technology. They have developed a novel light-to-heat evaporator featuring a one-dimensional Ti2AlSnC MAX phase nanofiber membrane as its core light-to-heat conversion layer. This innovative technology harnesses solar energy for highly efficient evaporation, offering zero carbon emissions, exceptional energy efficiency, and modular design benefits. As a result, it emerges as a promising solution for sustainable freshwater production.
