The Ministry of Ecology and Environment has recently announced the implementation of a classified management system for fusion devices. This new framework will oversee radiation safety with reference to standards for nuclear technology utilization facilities and issue corresponding radiation safety licenses. Furthermore, the Ministry is exploring the integration of environmental impact assessment and radiation safety licensing through a "combined review and approval" mechanism. Approved or filed environmental impact assessment documents, as well as existing radiation safety licenses, will remain valid but must be renewed in accordance with the new regulations upon their expiration. Applicants who have not yet submitted their applications are required to do so to the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.
